Nowadays, most of the The engine uses a jack, which is mainly used to automatically adjust the clearance of the valve mechanism due to wear.
The automatic adjustment of the jack is based on oil pressure. When the parts are excessively worn and exceed the limit of automatic adjustment, valve ringing will occur. Failure of the jack and automatic adjustment function will also cause valve ringing. The valve clearance is too large, In addition to noise at startup (more obvious when the car is cold), there are also other defects. For example: poor valve lift, insufficient air intake, incomplete exhaust, reduced engine power and high fuel consumption. Because each model is different , so the valve clearance requirements are also different. Generally, the normal clearance of the intake valve is between 15-20 lines, while the normal clearance of the exhaust valve is between 25-35 lines.
What is the relationship between valve rings and engine oil?
Because the oil pressure can realize the function of the jack to automatically adjust the gap, the valve ring and the oil have a direct relationship. Of course, the premise is that the engine is not worn.
1. Low oil pressure or insufficient oil volume
Low oil pressure, insufficient valve chamber lubrication; or insufficient engine oil, and the gap between the jacks when gas enters the oil inlet will cause the valve ring to ring.
2. Gas enters the oil inlet during the maintenance period
Many people have this kind of experience. After maintenance, there is a short valve ring when igniting. In fact, this kind of situation is quite normal, because during the oil draining process, the oil and gas in the oil line are drained. It may enter the oil circuit and cause the valve to sound. After a period of operation, the gas will be discharged and the valve condition will disappear.
